If you are new to writing and need a resource to locate potential publishers and information about the business, this is one book you should have, It contains many references and detail that might seem ovewhelming at first but once you get accoustomed to the format you wil find the information in the boook helpful.
However, assuming that it's accurate, the information in this book, which includes helpful tables showing low/high/average prices for various writing services, listings for literary agents, and some hilarious "bad" query letters alongside good query letters, makes this book worthwhile. I just wish Writer's Digest Books/F+W Media would be as neurotic about proofreading as some of the presses listed in their book claim to be. We would like paper submissio"Excluding the glossary and index, this book is 1070 pages long, so there's no way it's going to be error-free, but I found these errors just flipping through the book the afternoon it arrived. Therefore, I'm skeptical about the quality of the information the book contains. That way, I could be confident that I can rely on the information the book contains.
As usual, I saw it at the library where I could have used it for free. Be careful with purchasing these books that are out of date nearly immediately. Good reference.
